That idea of worthiness would often come back around in the comics as any time Thor was deemed unworthy arrogant and selfish he would no longer have access to his hammer, much like the character’s first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

When the World Eaters invaded the Nine Realms, Thor also brought Odin back to life, much to the latter exasperation who yelled at Loki, calling him a killer and an abomination responsible for Asgard's fall, scaring the boy away. Thor became angry with his father and calls him a "horrible, unlovable man" for screaming at a child who was very much the boy Odin had raised. As Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world, he teams up with a fellow Avenger and agent, Black Widow, to battle a new threat from history: an assassin known as the Winter Soldier.
Immunity to Other Forces: Even without activating the powers of Mjolnir, Thor's hammer, enchanted by Odin, is impervious to nearly all forms of change, as he himself claimed that no power in the universe but the All-Father's could affect Mjolnir, shown when Amora 's magical efforts during her first confrontation with Thor to change it into a deadly serpent availed her naught.
Ages ago, an unimaginably powerful cosmic storm called the God Tempest approached Asgard. Odin , chief of the Norse gods, battled the storm for many days when it threatened Asgard. Once the storm was weakened enough, Odin defeated the God Tempest by trapping it into a chunk of Uru that had been given to him by the Dwarves of Nidavellir as a gift.
After the events of Siege, Asgard was left in ruins because of Loki's doing, but still Thor mourned for him. After fighting the Dísir and saving Hel, Thor asked Hela to speak with Loki only for Hela to tell him that her father did not dwell in Hel. In part of his deal to grant a piece of Hell for the dead, Loki had himself written out of the books of Hel, meaning his soul was out there, vulnerable to the Disir. Thor refused to believe it, knowing that his step-brother would've had something else planned.
In another version, Loki hated Thor so much that he followed him when he was sent on a mission to retrieve treasures made by the dwarves. There, he turned into a moth, repeatedly getting in the face of a dwarf until he sneezed and made a mistake, shortening the handle, and ensuring that Mjolnir would need to be used one-handed.
In exchange for helping to save the planet, Thor was told that his hammer would use so much energy to set time right again that he would never be able to time travel again. Thor agreed, though Immortus, who could control time himself, could have saved the planet whenever he wanted.
